Herve Leger Banadage Dress
Whether it’s a night out with the ladies or an intimate dinner with your partner, you want to look the part on Valentine’s Day.
I was trolling the Nordstrom website and came across a pair of gorgeous, red-suede Steve Madden platforms and a Maggy London little black bandage dress that is sure to flatter all shapes and sizes.
I heart bandage dresses and recently picked one up in Toronto. Originally designed by Herve Leger, these dresses have been touted as one of the most flattering styles due to the layers of bandage-like fabric.
The Herve Leger dresses were initially designed with strips of remaining seam bindings from other Leger dresses. Herve Leger collected these long, thin scraps of leftover fabric and wrapped them mummy-style around his mannequin thus creating the flattering, bandage style dress. Original Leger bandage dresses can run $1,000 plus, so I recommend starting with well made knock offs.
For the classy lady, the affordable Maggy London LBD from Nordstrom (pictured below) is a classic style that is both simple and sophisticated. The cap sleeves forgive any and all arm issues while providing a sexy peek-a-boo effect with the sheer black overlay. Just like the original, this bandage style dress is fitted yet flattering.
This LBD needs a pop of colour either with a bright clutch or some fantastic pumps. I love the Steve Madden ‘Toppazz’ Pump (pictured below) because they will add height and punch to your outfit. For Valentine’s Day, I recommend finishing this look off with the red Topazz pump.
