DVF Spring 2010

Spring 2010 at Diane Van Furstenberg is full of tribal and boho influences.  If you like animal prints, flowy skirts and dresses the DVF spring 2010 collection is for you.

Personally, I dabble less in the trendy pieces and more in the classic, investment pieces.  For me, the stand outs of this collection are the Vern cotton wrap dresses, made famous by DVF herself in the 70’s, and  the Newport wide legged trousers.

Curvy woman look especially fabulous in wrap dresses because they slim the tummy by accentuating the waist and draw attention away from large breasts.  I heart simple, cotton wrap dresses for the spring and summer.

A favourite look of mine are wide-legged trousers, especially in the spring.  This is a look which suits slim women who are blessed with longer legs.  On the other hand, if you’re short and like being raised-up by uber high-heels, you can also pull off wide-legged trousers.  If you are planning to sport wide legged trousers like those in the DVF spring 2010 collection, be sure to wear a fitted top to maintain a slim silhouette.

If dropping $375 on a dress or $265 on a pair of trousers isn’t in your future, take these suggestions to less expensive stores and find something more within your budget.
