Back in early November, Burberry launched a social networking site to celebrate its iconic trench coat. People from around the world and of all ages now have a platform to showcase how they wear their Burberry trench via the Art of the Trench site.
If you feel fabulously fashionable as you strut your stuff down the catwalk of life in your trench, you just might appear on this site! Website visitors are invited to submit images of themselves or friends wearing the trench. Burberry will regularly look through and upload their favourite shots to the site.
For the launch, Burberry creative director Christopher Bailey commissioned a collection of photographs of trench wearers around the world taken by one of my favourite fashion photographers, Scott Schuman – The Sartorialist.
For his first collaboration, Scott Schuman has been capturing street portraits of people in Burberry trench coats in London, Milan, New York, Paris, Berlin, Sao Paulo and Venice. After gorging myself on photographs of fabulous people wearing their trenches in such unique ways, it makes me covet a Burberry trench even more!!
Check out Scott Schuman’s recent interview where he describes his creative process and the making of the Art of Trench campaign.
